Is there an old well on your property? Not sure what to do with it? Sealing abandoned wells is important. Wells provide a direct route for contamination to reach underground aquifers. Some cistern-style wells can also be a safety issue for children and animals.
The District has set up a cost share program to promote abandoned well sealing. This program provides up to 75% of the cost of sealing an abandoned well, and is dependent on available funding. Check out the Fact Sheet for more information on the cost share.
If you would like to apply for cost share, you may either contact the District or download our application packet.
