Bulletins and New Postings

  • Ag Certification is here!  This new program allows producers to certify their farms and be exempt from any new laws or regulations that may be coming in the next 10 years.  It also means your operation receives priority funding and advice for conservatin practices.  Free, confidential reviews are available for your operation!


  • Keep it Clean Logo The 2016 Keep it Clean Dumpster Program is up and running.  Dumpsters will be placed at spring-use boat accesses.

  • SWCD Board Meetings are scheduled for the 2nd Thursday of the month at 6:00 p.m. in the Federal Building.

  • Around 50 private wells were tested for the three most common drinking water contaminants during the 2015 Annual Well Testing Clinic. 

  • The SWCD is part of the Major Watershed Restoration and Protection Plan for Lake of the Woods.

"The purpose of the District is to provide for the adoption of sound water quality, proper land use, and soil conservation practices on all lands in the District, to assist with the development of a prosperous agricultural economy, and to foster other community development for the general welfare and security of the people of the District.

SWCD board meetings: second  Thursday of the month at 6:00 p.m. in the Conference Room of the Federal Building.

The Board also holds quarterly tours and special workshops. Contact the SWCD if you would like to be noticed or participate.

Special meetings of the SWCD will be posted outside the SWCD office door a minimum of three days in advance.
